Greater is His Unchanging Love

As seasons begin to change from winter to spring, the grass begins to sprout, trees are budding, and flowers are blooming. Depending on your favorite season, we look forward to the changes in weather.

Some may like the cold and having a nice mug of hot chocolate while others may enjoy
painting their toe nails to get them ready for their sandals and flip flops. The weather is constantly changing. One thing that I am glad that does not change is God’s love.

One question I would like for you to think about is what if God’s love changed accordingly to my actions? What if He only loved me when I did right by Him? That is a question that I find hard to fathom.

One universal scripture that blows my mind every time is John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

I just have to pause and tell the Lord thank you for loving me.

We cannot love anything or anyone without God’s unfailing love. 1 John 4:19 says , how “we love Him because He first loved us.” God is love (1 John 4:8).

It was Love that covered our sins (Proverbs 10:12), and it was Love that laid down His life for our sins (1 John 4:8-10). I am so thankful for a love that does not change according to my actions and condition, but a love that remains the same. I am thankful that God has not dealt with us according to our sin (Psalm 103:10), but the Lord has drawn us by His loving kindness (Jeremiah 31:3). Thank you Father!

Finally, my sisters John 15 the Lord says, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”

He later on says to the disciples that He no longer calls them servants, but friend because a servant knows not what the Master do. I want to end with a question also. I just like asking a lot of questions. Are you a friend of the Lord? Think of your best friend. Think of how you can tell her or him anything and everything, how they are there for you, and how you trust them. The Lord Jesus wants to be closer than that. He goes on to tell the disciples that He calls them friends because what the Father makes known to Him, He will make known to them.

Heavenly Father, thank you for your overflowing love, and thank you that it will never change according to our conditions. God, we want to thank you for being patient with us all. Lord only you can show us true agape love.
